logs.chromium.org 'wrap' button

Project Member Reported by vbendeb@google.com, Oct 22

Issue description

I'm looking at this log page:

https://logs.chromium.org/logs/chromeos/buildbucket/cr-buildbucket.appspot.com/8931976278155816144/+/steps/UnitTest/0/stdout

there text does not wrap and there is no button to turn wrapping on any more, at least I don't see one.

Am I missing something?

Also, it would be better to have wrapping on by default.

The logdog client was changed to be super simple and fast and doesn't have this anymore. How important is this to you?

This is very important - there are quite a few very long lines logs, and often they are needed.

I think this is a major flaw in the new version, find it hard to believe that someone could think this is acceptable.
I would find it really helpful.

I also like the really fast load times today. If it would had a big impact load performance.... I'm not sure how to prioritize between them.
can wrapping enabled be made the only option? I doubt it would make load time much different.

wrapping is a worse view for most logging use cases, i would be against having it as the default option, much less only option.

This can probably be an option in the full view, I don't think this should live in the lite view.
fwiw I consider this a bug: it was there and it is not there any more as a result of a modification.
