Unable to reproduce the issue on chrome reported version# 70.0.3538.22 and on latest chrome stable# 70.0.3538.67 using Windows-7 & 10 with steps mentioned below:
1) Launched chrome reported version and navigated to URL where address autofill works
2) Enabled chrome://settings/autofill and navigated to page where address autofill works, clicked on name field, autofill works as excepted
3) Disable chrome://settings/autofill(still autofill entry present), navigated to page where address autofill works, clicked on name field, no autofill got suggested

@Reporter: Please find the attached screencast for your reference and let us know if we missed anything in reproducing the issue. Try to test this issue on latest chrome stable# 70.0.3538.67 and let us know if the issue still persists.

the problem is when disable address autofill this disable all autofill, the standard autofill is disabled! can't autofill username, can't autofill search box, product, address with previous entry (and not with field recorded by Chrome in address).

See screencast, now I can't disable only address autofill (and autosave) without impact all autofill function.

With GDPR, many sites have updated (tiny example: https://spam-vocal.33700.fr/signalement), and all fields are no longer required. But Chrome filled all the fields, then we lose more time to empty the fields that are not mandatory. In previous versions it was possible to disable only this address filling without impact on other fields and allowed to find a standard operation similar to other browsers.

AND: this function does not respect GDPR, the personal data provided to a third are retrieved by Chrome (and synchronize at Google) without the agreement of the user. Same as password, Chrome must request to save or not address,name,surname, phone.
If I order an object for someone on amazon for example, the address and the name of the recipient are recorded in Chrome discreetly and all info grouped, which is not the case of the classic fields that does not link between first name, last name, address...

Able to reproduce the issue on chrome reported version# 70.0.3538.22, latest stable# 70.0.3538.67 and on latest chrome# 72.0.3588.0 using Windows-10, Ubuntu 17.10 and Mac 10.12.6 with reference to screencast attached in comment# 4. As this issue is seen from introduction of 'Addresses and more' option in chrome settings from M-69(69.0.3473.0), hence considering this issue as Non-Regression and marking it as Untriaged.

Before M70, we used to have a single Autofill toggle that disabled everything: Addresses, Credit Cards and Autocomplete.

As of M70 we split into 2 toggles, one for cards and one for addresses. You are correct that we still bundle Autocomplete with Addresses.

While this is not ideal, it's still an improvement over the previous behavior. For this reason I see this more as a Feature Request than a bug.

not sure the version, 68 beta perhaps, I have two button, one to disable autofill/autosave address and credit card, and another for autofill standard and it was perfect.  The second removed (not sure this option appear in final release, I always use beta). Now second button appear again but as you describe it.
Thought a bug and regression, because the description does not indicate the complete deactivation of any field autofill.


If it was wanted like that, then it is a Feature request for improvement in the new UI:

1/to disable this automatic form address storage (add it manually), or request before save it (same as password);because I do not want Chrome to keep some contact information and that I use very rarely. Here it's not just a field, but a person's complete information.

 Note:to disable autofill address: just remove all entry. Why offer the option to disable automatic address insertion and keep a synchronized address list with google, when I can disable sync and remove local entry to disable this.(can you just consider not automatically backing up contact information)

2/I want if autofill address is enabled to see to two option: fill with address list, or use standard autofill for the selected field.
 example: I can't autofill my home phone number in this form: https://spam-vocal.33700.fr/signalement (see screencast)
 When clic phone, it's display my mobile phone from address list that I never filled(autosaved for another form).
 I must remove all address to see standard autofill for this field.

Ah I see. We did have an intermediate step that was visible on Beta, I'm sorry you had this bad experience.

So yes it seems like a feature request. We are aware of the interest for this. In the meantime, I have an idea that could help with you use case in particular.

Related to 1. If you navigate to chrome://settings/syncSetup you should be able to disable syncing of Autofill data. If I understand correctly, this should address your issue.

For 2. To make sure I understand this one, would you like to fill using Autocomplete (the single value autofilling feature), or would you want to fill data from an Autofill Address one field at the time?

For 1. To replace actual option button to just disable autosave, but not disable address form autofill.
 I will chrome not auto-add address in this list, but use address form autofill with address list. example: When fill address in amazon for the delivery not autosave it in the list, or request before add it. 
If I want to disable auto-fill of address form, it's for Chrome does not record anything. When there is no address in the list, auto-fill is already disabled, so just do not save anything automatically.

I already not sync autofill, because autofill are particular to this PC and do not wish to share them with the mobile or other PC for example whose usage and the input fields are different.

for 2. I will fill using Autocomplete on the detected form address page. (not only autofill address)
  In my previous easy example with screencast, I can't use autocomplete, the form for phone number is autocomplete='on' but not work because Chrome detect address form. I must remove all address list in chrome://settings/autofill to use autocomplete that will work until Chrome recovers my address in a form.

But also interested to fill data from an Autofill Address one field at the time, it is common since GDPR that all fields are no longer required or that Chrome does not recognize the fields well (or rather that the page has been badly developed)

FYI, I also add a painful problem. Using Chrome to manage the configuration of routers, the impossibility to disable this automatic filling of postal address, prevents Chrome from displaying IP addresses, MAC addresses and offers instead a selection of postal address.
