Issue descriptionGoogle Chrome 71.0.3578.8 (Official Build) dev (64-bit) Firmware Version Google_Caroline.7820.384.0 Also on Google Eve Steps to repro: # Log in to Chromebook with any account # Lock the screen, I used search + l # On the lockscreen, unlock by entering the correct credentials Expected: machine unlocks, Chrome hasn't crashed Actual: On Caroline, the lockscreen flickers and goes away, bringing you to the Login screen. After logging in, all of the windows are gone and you are prompted to recover from the crash On Eve, the lockscreen flickers, you are brought back to your browser after the lockscreen unlocks, and all windows have crashed - you are prompted to recover Repros 5/5 times. Can we confirm the possible DUP in #4? Any way we can get a dump to investigate?

Jacob can we investigate why our lockscreen tests did not catch this?

It seems like it may be related to smart lock being enabled? We don't run the autotest (desktopui_ScreenLocker) with smart lock enabled.

Definitely a dupe of crbug.com/895937. Marking as such.

Curiosity (and a broken Chromebook) is getting the better of me -- is there a way I could have view access to 895937 or 896978? I would love to see the progress (or potential workarounds). Of course, you all have more pressing things to attend to than my own impatience! Thanks for working on this.

I'm not sure why crbug.com/895937 has restricted visibility, so I'd be uncomfortable lifting the restriction (to be clear, we prefer to have publicly visible bugs / code changes as much as possible). In any case, the fix has been found and will be present in the next dev-channel update. You can find the fix here [1], if you're morbidly curious. :) That update should be rolling out within the next day. Apologies for the inconvenience that this issue has caused! 1) https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/1287433
