Strange green border on google yellow 'O'

Reported by olen.and...@gmail.com, Oct 17

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.67 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to google.com
2. See the image with a green border on the yellow 'o'

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
Ok so I have multiple screens :

It does this only on one screen (doesn't do it with Firefox though).

I don't know what kind of data would be useful for you guys to help debugging this.

Did this work before? Yes 69

Chrome version: 70.0.3538.67 Channel: stable
OS Version: Ubuntu 18.04.1
Flash Version:

More information:

If I drag the window between the 2 screens, it will display the green border on the second screen until the window is 'attached' to the buggy screen. Once the window is dragged to the second healthy screen, it will switch to the original google logo (and vice-versa).
This is also reported in comments to the supposedly fixed bug: https://crbug.com/867813#c45
While waiting for a proper fix, try setting sRGB in chrome://flags/#force-color-profile

@Reporter: Could you please let us know if this has been resolved by setting sRGB in chrome://flags/#force-color-profile as per comment#2.

CC'ing mtklein@ from issue 867813 for further inputs.

Thanks!
Issue 867813 is now tracking what's effectively the same bug in two different parts of Chromium's codebase. The first was fixed from M70 onward, the second from M71 onward. We identified that second version of the bug yesterday.

This does look like that second version of the bug, and should be able to be worked around...
   - by switching to sRGB temporarily, or
   - by switching to the beta channel temporarily, or
   - by temporarily turning on GPU rasterization.
Switching to sRGB fixed the problem
