Steps to reproduce the problem:

What is the expected behavior?
Student account should connect and open to the Intranet Home Page and prompt for credentials

It sounds like it could be some sort of corruption in the device's OS. Try running recovery on the device. You can create a recovery USB using the Chromebook Recovery Utility (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chromebook-recovery-utili/jndclpdbaamdhonoechobihbbiimdgai?hl=en) and then turn it on and when it is done booting press ESC + Refresh + Power and plug in the USB. This will completely reset and restore the device. This will be a little bit more then a Powerwash, so if you don't have forced re-enrollment enabled you will need to preregister it with your domain. Tell me if this helps!
