Thanks for filing the issue!

Unable to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 69.0.3497.100 using Windows 10 with the below mentioned steps.
1. Launched chrome
2. Opened page1.html, Inspected the page to open DevTools
3. Clicked on "Open Page 2"
4. Then in page 2 -> Clicked Test 4 - Close this window
Observed the page 2 tab closed, while the page 1 was unaffected. In the process we didn't observe any crash.

@Reporter: Could you please check the same in a new profile without any apps & extensions and let us know if the issue still persists. And could you please share the crash ID from chrome://crashes, Any further inputs from your end may be helpful.
Thanks for looking at this.

Not sure why, but when I run the same test again, there are no problems. This is with all the same extensions, etc.

You can close the Issue.

If I encounter it again and have more details, I'll come back...

Happening again.

Opened a new Incognito tab, loaded "Page 1" then "Page 2". Crashed when closing page 2.

From this tab, viewed chrome://crashes and clicked "Send Now" for crash ID 91d3abaa-693e-41f4-962c-dec79f344f6f. However, the crashes pages shows: (upload requested by user, not yet uploaded)
Turned on Auto send of crash reports. Restarted Chrome. Report was sent as: Crash Report ID 60e382a555bc4fc5

Created new Issue: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=896726

I think this is for the same crash scenario.

 glen.little@,
Could you please check the issue on latest stable-70.0.3538.77 & please provide us the latest crash id from chrome://crashes if issue still persists

Thanks..!
I have tested in that version and not encountered the issue. Due to the inconsistent experience before, I can't guarantee that it is resolved. But, I'll assume that it is! You can close this Issue.
