Change buffer sizes types from signed to unsigned in audio code

dcheng@ requested that an issue be filed to track cleanup of buffer size types in the audio code from signed to unsigned, the context for the discussion can be found here:

Just realized that there's a typo in the title, 'times' should be 'types'. I'm not able to edit the issue though so just flagging it here.
