Search bar query results in empty query

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3497.100 Safari/537.36

Example URL:
Any type of query made in the search bar

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Make a search query in the search bar. I have not identified how to reproduce it.

What is the expected behavior?
return google query for the result OR the requested website

What went wrong?
The query string is emptied by the browser when i hit enter and nothing happens. This is fixed by opening a new window and making the query in the new window.

Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes

Is it a problem with a plugin? No 

Did this work before? Yes 

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 69.0.3497.100  Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.13.6
Flash Version: 

Fixed by opening a new window.

Thanks for filing the issue!

Tried checking the issue on reported chrome version 69.0.3497.100 using Mac 10.13.1 with the below mentioned steps.
1. Launched chrome
2. Typed some content in Omni bar-> Hit enter
Observed the searched results without any emptiness in omni bar/search bar.

@Reporter: In Comment#0, you mentioned "Fixed by opening a new window", in that case could you please let us know if we can close this. Any further inputs from your end may be helpful.

Opening a new window fixes the issue temporary I consider it a workaround and not a solution.

CC tapted@, for another issue with the enter key on Mac in M-69.

Sounds a little like  bug 895100  (which though is in M-70), which was just closed as not reproducible, just with the omnibox being blank after pressing enter instead of simply continuing to display the old URL after pressing enter.

It's possible r598540 has fixed this for m71.

It sounds like the same as  Issue 890402 , but without a repro case I'm not sure what we can do about it.
