Issue descriptionDevice name: Samsung Galaxy No+e 9 From "Settings > About Chrome" Application version:70.0.3538.57 Operating system: Android 8.1.0 URLs (if applicable): https://twitter.com/i/status/1050559813342519296 Steps to reproduce: (1) Click on Message (2) Press play (3) Expected result: Video should play. Actual result: Error message: "We cannot play the video in this browser. Please try a different web browser." This has been happening for a while, but usually the message goes away if you try more than once, but it isn't working at all now. I even cleared cache and cookies. The website works on my non-beta version of Chrome. Gifs have the same problem.

Able to reproduce this issue on chrome version #70.0.3538.57 using Pixel 2 XL/Android 9. But issue is seen only 1 out of 5 times. Issue is not observed on latest stable, dev and beta -- tested 4-6 times. Hence marking this issue as Untriaged for further help in triaging from dev team. Thanks!

I just ran into this on my linux desktop. I can reproduce this reliably with a local chromium build from ToT as well as an archived binary from https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/chromium-browser-snapshots/o/Linux_x64%2F587811%2Fchrome-linux.zip?generation=1535668921668411&alt=media. Oddly enough, the google-chrome installation on my system is at 70.0.3538.77 and can play videos just fine. Bumping to P1 and marking available. |
