Alt+V stopped working on M-70 |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 70.0.3538.41 / 11021.34.0 OS: Chrome What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Go to login screen. (2) Press Alt+V on keyboard What is the expected result? Device shows Chrome/OS version, Device Serial Number and Asset ID at top right of screen What happens instead? Nothing, no information displayed at top right of screen Additional details Confirmed working in 69, this functionality no longer works in 70. This functionality is heavily used by EDU and Enterprise customers to quickly identify device details when dealing with many devices. Common scenarios where this is used: *) quickly confirm device is up to date with latest Chrome OS update that may be needed for kiosk app, state testing, etc. *) Confirm device Asset ID and ownership *) Confirm device's Serial number as identified on physical bottom of device matches the serial number stored in VPD that device is reporting to admin console (not uncommon for mismatch to occur during device RMA) Not having this information available to admins will lead to confusion and slowdown in support processes for Chrome devices.
