Delete (X button) click target on text input suggestions has more surface area than expected. |
|||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 71.0.3573.0 OS: N Device: Pixel (Not device specific. Also repros on other devices and OS versions) What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Go to google.com and perform enough searches so that when you click in the search box, a list of search history appears. (2) Click in the search box, the search history appears, and so does the keyboard. (3) point at the white space in the middle of one of the input suggestions and scroll slightly up and down. What is the expected result? Scrolling only should occur. What happens instead? Without fail, the scrolling (specifically the upward scroll) triggers a click on the x button on whichever search suggestion is hovered over. And a prompt regarding removing the item from search history appears. See video.

Still repros for me on 72.0.3608.0 When I originally reported it, M71 was dev. It still repros on latest dev, so I think it's safe to say that it's not fixed in M71 either.

This is not an issue where scrolling triggers the click. The touchpad can be a bit sensitive, but that's beyond the scope of this bug. So I've updated the title to reflect the issue more clearly. So on google.com, when the cursor is in the text input box, a list of search suggestions / history appears. For each one, there is an X button right aligned in the UI. In 2D mode, this X can only be selected by pressing directly on the X. In VR browser, the user can easily accidentally click the X, when they expected to click the search suggestion. The target area for the X is 50% of the entire individual search suggestion. Which is way beyond the surface area of the X itself.
