Kernel-4.19: gui takes a long time to load after entering password

On Caroline, it takes a very long time (almost exactly one minute) for the GUI to appear after the password has been entered.

After signing out, it takes some 15 seconds for the login screen to appear, which also seems long.

Nothing relevant is displayed in the kernel log.

Attaching /var/log/messages from login and logout sequence. Login duration seems to be caused by browser hangs.

The problem may possibly be related to  crbug.com/890397  (unconfirmed, just a guess).
