Able to reproduce the issue on chrome version #60.0.3072.0, reported chrome version on #69.0.3497.100 and latest chrome #71.0.3573.0 on Windows 10, Ubuntu 17.10 and Mac 10.13.3by following steps as per comment#0. This is a non-regression issue and the behavior is seen from old M-60 builds. Hence marking it as untriaged and requesting dev team to kindly look into the issue. Thanks.!

This is a problem with Google, not Chrome. You could scroll to the end of the page and click on "Send feedback" and follow the prompts. This feedback report will go to Google. That said, there's a lot of chatter on the web about these counts being estimates and thus slightly wrong. I found this old article for example. https://searchengineland.com/why-google-cant-count-results-properly-53559 |
