Project Member Reported by ryutas@chromium.org, Oct 8

Issue description

Chrome version: 69.0.3497.100 (also 68 and bet 70)
65,66 and 67 works as expected.
OS version:Windows 7
-It happens only in Windows 7, as of right now, it happens at random times.
Case#: 16921983
Printer information: Canon iR-ADV C5560 / canon iR-ADV C3330 as network printer.
(Using static IP and there is not ip conflict)

Description: The Pdf file attached to Gmail does not print out.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open gmail and attached PDF.
2. From PDF viewer, click the Printer icon to print out.
3. The printer job starts, but the printer does not print out.
Please refer the provided video file more details.

Current Behavior / Reproduction: Chrome Browser doesn’t print out the attached PDF file to Gmail. However it is able to print out if the user download the attached PDF onto PC first, then print out it.

Current workaround:
-If the attachment is downloaded, opened and then printed instead of following the steps above, it prints fine.
-The issue does not happen in IE or Mozzila.
-Downgrade to older version such as 65.

-Restart the spooler service but, could not resolve the issue.
-Tested another user in same computer, and the behavior was the same.
-Mixed result, If the affected users login to another computer.

This sounds like a printing only issue, so sending to thestig@
The customer has changed “chrome://flags/#use-pdf-compositor-service-for-print”, but it didn’t change any behavior.

The customer has upgraded Chrome Browser to the latest stable M70, but the issue still persists.

thestig@
The customer has tested Canary 72.0.3594.0, but the issue still persists.
Please let me know if you need additional info from the customer.

I'll work on getting a Windows 7 test environment so I can try this out. I also see bug 894965 which sounds similar. In the meanwhile, I have more questions:

Q4) Does this issue exist on Windows 10?
Q5) Since (A3) is "Any printer" then does that mean the issue occurs when printing to a virtual printer like CutePDF Writer? It would be nice to be able to test this with a virtual printer and avoid wasting paper. http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp
Summary: The Pdf file attached to Gmail does not print out. (was: The Pdf file attached to Gmail does not print out.)
A couple more questions:

Q6) The initial bug report said "it happens at random times" - how often is that? 5% of the time? 50%?
Q7) I assume the PDF displays correctly in Gmail. Does it display correctly in Print Preview? Is the preview blank as well, or is this only an issue when printed to paper?

Sorry for late reply.

The support case has been closed due to no response from the customer.
Last message which we requested them was,
-test by the latest Canary.
-re-image Win OS if the latest Canary does not solve.

I will close this bug case.

Thanks for all your support.
