Devtools performance panel sometimes does not show slices |
||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit) Revision 8920e690dd011895672947112477d10d5c8afb09-refs/branch-heads/3497@{#948} OS: Linux About once every five times I try to record a profile using devtools performance panel, none of the slices render, although the hover tooltips still work. Attached a video to explain what I mean, and attached a trace that causes this issue if you load it. There is no error on the console - I only see "Main._createAppUI: xx ms ..." in the logs.

I have seen similar reports. Are you profiling a WebGL related page?

Not exactly WebGL, but I have canvas elements on the page.

If you can reproduce it on your side, may I ask you to bisect the build that broke it? There is a report saying that 69.0.3497.81 worked fine. I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks.

viswa.karala@: This doesn't happen for all traces. You can load the trace I attached. Repro steps would be: (1) Open chrome, open devtools performance panel. (2) Right click -> Load profile (3) Select the trace I attached. The attached trace loads fine with the version of devtools at https://chromedevtools.github.io/timeline-viewer/, which makes me think the problem is not in the trace. |
