Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.35 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to any website 2. Attempt to use the omnibox to search using key words or URL What is the expected behavior? The expected behaviour is that the URL bar will work the same way the search bar will, and take me to the website or google search when I press enter. E.g. I will enter "www.instagram.com" and will be taken to instagram. What went wrong? When I press the enter key, I am not taken to the website or google search, but can still see the url. Did this work before? Yes 69.0.3497.100 Chrome version: 70.0.3538.35 Channel: beta OS Version: OS X 10.13.6 Flash Version: 31.0.0.108

OP: In the meantime, if you could attach a video of the experience, that would be instructive. Move the mouse up and down near the omnibox to signal that you've pressed enter.

Unable to reproduce the issue on reported version #69.0.3497.100 and latest chrome #71.0.3567.0 using Windows 10 by following below steps. Steps: ===== 1.Launched chrome. 2.Entered "www.instagram.com" in Omni box and clicked enter. 3.Observed that it navigated to "www.instagram.com". Attached screencast for reference. @reporter: Could you please review the attached screencast and let us know if anything is being missed here. Request you to retry the issue on a new profile without any apps and extensions, reset all flags to default and let us know if the issue still persists. Thanks.!

CC tapted@, for another issue with the enter key on Mac in M-69.

The description suggests this is m70, not m69. My immediate suspect was https://crrev.com/c/1249465 . That was merged to m70, but is in 70.0.3538.38, not 70.0.3538.35 (in fact 70.0.3538.38 has not even been pushed out to the beta channel yet). (also note I don't think https://crrev.com/c/1249465 will _help_ this issue either). Tommy - maybe this is related to changes for Issue 874592 or Issue 842236?

I've tried to reproduce this with both Canary 71.0.3578.8 and Beta 70.0.3538.54 and I could not. I don't think it's related to either of the linked changes. Tentatively marking WontFix, unless we can reproduce Original poster, does this still reproduce if you disable all your extensions? Thanks.

Slightly different for me, where after i pressed enter, the query is cleared as well, leaving me with an empty search box. I haven't encountered the issue Since I switched back to Coco. |
