Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3497.100 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://web.whatsapp.com/ Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to https://web.whatsapp.com/ 2. Receive a new message and notice the sound notification 3. Play an audio message What is the expected behavior? If you set "Sound" to "Blocked", you won't hear sound notifications which is the intended behaviour. What went wrong? However, simultaneously by setting "Sound" to "Blocked", you also cannot listen to audio messages, which is not intended. Did this work before? N/A Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? N/A Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 69.0.3497.100 Channel: stable OS Version: Flash Version: Contents of chrome://gpu: I am putting this out for discussion and look forward to your feedback. What's the best approach here? Is WhatsApp just badly designed in this regard? Are there more websites that have potentially annoying notification sounds to block and at the same time valuable sound that one wants to listen to? Technically speaking, is it even possible to distinguish the two? Yours

orschiro@ Thanks for the issue... Unable to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 69.0.3497.100 using Ubuntu 14.04. Steps: --------- 1. Launched reported chrome 2. Navigated to https://web.whatsapp.com/ 3. Scanned QR code and signed in to WhatsApp 4. Navigated to Settings >Notifications > Sounds and unchecked the sounds checkbox As we have not heard the notification sound after unchecking the sounds @Reporter: Can you verify this issue with fresh profile that is not having any extensions and apps or reset all the flags. Let us know whether issue still persists. THanks..!

@phanindr didn't even know this setting existed. Thanks! Thus no Chromium-wide setting needed. I think that should be handled by the website through a setting. Let me know if you disagree. Yours
