Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 11021.28.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.34 Safari/537.36 Platform: 11021.28.0 (Official Build) beta-channel eve Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Add dictation icon to Chrome OS shelf 2. Put cursor in text input field 3. Click mic on shelf, dictate text, say "new line" at end What is the expected behavior? Text is entered, a new line is entered, mic stays on for a few seconds to wait for more dictation. What went wrong? Instead of a new line the text "new line" is entered. "period" and "question mark" do the right thing but "new line" and "cap" do not. The mic only stays on for less than a second when the user pauses to consider what to say next. It's very frustrating. The mic should stay on for a few seconds like it used to. Did this work before? Yes Not sure - Chrome 68 or 69? Chrome version: 70.0.3538.34 Channel: beta OS Version: 11021.28.0 Flash Version:

I'm still seeing these issues. Actually "new line" works, but only if you say it at the very beginning, not at the end when you would usually say it. So "new line this is a test" enters a new line, then "This is a test", but saying "this is a test new line" enters that exact text, with no capitalization. Also the mic doesn't stay on long enough when you pause. These are both regressions.

#6 can you say why this was changed from a regression to a feature? This used to work as described in the bug report in versions of Chrome before 69 or 70. |
