Request to setup gsubtreed for ChromeOS platform2/system_api.

Project Member Reported by hidehiko@chromium.org, Sep 27

Issue description

src/third_party/cros_system_api/ is pointing to ChromeOS platform/system_api, but it is being moved into platform2/.

https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/platform2/+/master/system_api/

To roll the directory into chromium repository, could you setup gsubtreed for the directory, so that it can be referred from DEPS?

cf) Tracking issue of the platform2/ is crbug.com/874735 .

Friendly ping? Any updates...?
Sorry, this request is actually non-trivial (requires allocating a new machine, setting up a builder, etc), so I haven't got a continuous chunk of time to work on it yet. Will try to finish in next 2 days.

To clarify, you want https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/platform2/+/master/system_api/ to be mirrored into a standalone repository. How should it be named?
Thank you for sharing the status.

Yes, it is.

Is it possible to mirror at https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/platform2/system_api ?

CrOS has already
https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/platform2/libbrillo, which is the mirror of https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/platform2/+/master/libbrillo, so I think it is consistent.
Oh, there's an existing mirror for another subdir already. This is great, it means I don't need to do all cumbersome parts (of setting up this https://ci.chromium.org/p/infra/builders/luci.infra.cron/gsubtreed-chromiumos-platform2), and can setup new mirror faster.

I still prefer to do it tomorrow morning (MTV time), in case something blows up, unless you are actively blocked on this right now.
Re #5:
Great to know that the process got easier.
MTV tomorrow works for me. Thanks in advance.
fTR, new machine isn't required any more, we share 3 existing machines across all 5 builders.
