Currently, the hermes project generates the qmi_uim.{h,cc} files using a tool called qmic. The generated code has to be rather heavily modified, however, before use in hermes. As work on hermes continues, the updating of the .qmi specification file and the regeneration of the qmi_uim.{h,cc} files will not be an uncommon occurrence, and it therefore makes sense to create a tool that generates the code we actually want from the .qmi file.
