No keyboard shortcut for OS icons by status tray (keyboard type, dictation, etc.) |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionGoogle Chrome 71.0.3554.0 (Official Build) dev (64-bit) Firmware Version Google_Caroline.7820.384.0 You can use alt + shift + l to get to launcher and tab to app icons on the shelf. You can also use alt + shift + s to open the status tray. However, there is no shortcut to get to any OS-wide icons that may go between them such as different keyboard selections, dictation, select to speak, etc. These can be enabled through settings. See screenshot for example of these buttons.

It's a feature request rather than a bug, and it's not clear if we're going to do that. +sgabriel@ to confirm

Good catch. Should we just expand the Alt + Shift + L shortcut to also include panel (stylus, keyboard, accessibility features, etc...) and the Status tray as part of the tabbing cycle ? Alt + Shift + S would continue to be a shortcut to quick open the system menu.

@sgabriel that makes sense to me! Being able to tab to it is a good solution.
