Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. on Chrome DEV 71 for Android go to https://subfiresuite.com/notcolor 2. add to home page (it doesn't matter if it actually installs the PWA or just bookmarks) 3. now open from the home page's link What is the expected behavior? The notification space at the top of the phone (battery, network connection, etc) should be white text on black, clearly legible. What went wrong? On 71, the foreground color is a very dark gray, and extremely difficult to read. Did this work before? Yes 70 (I don't have Beta 70 on my phone, but it is still working correctly on General 69) Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 71.0.3555.2 Channel: dev OS Version: 8.0.0 Flash Version: I have not attempted it with other colors. With the only other PWA I have installed on that box besides my own (Google Photos), the theme_color is set to white, though I can see that the foreground has changed as is still a very dark gray and not the solid black.

jws.fbmm@: Unable to reproduce this on latest stable 69.0.3497.100 , latest beta 70.0.3538.27, latest dev 71.0.3555.2 and latest canary 71.0.3557.2 using Pixel 2. Observing white text on black background, Could you please let us know the device you are seeing this issue on and screenshot of the issue. This would help us in further triaging. Thanks!

The phone is Samsung Galaxy 9. It ABSOLUTELY matters which browser added the app, and you HAVE to remove the app entirely in order to install it with the other browser. Once installed via Chrome 69, it will use 69 to run every time you click, even if you attempted to install with 71 after having installed with 69. Basically, the foreground color of the nav bar line is a fixed color, no matter what app runs. Again, using maps.google.com, in 69 i can see the foreground is a definite black, and in 71 it is a slightly lighter dark-gray, the same foreground as in my own app (subfire) but in my own app because the background is black it is much less readable. I am able to reproduce this constantly. uninstall, install 69, works fine. uninstall, install running chrome dev 71, and it is unreadable. every time.

and, being a PWA, by uninstall that means going into the phone's "apps" settings and uninstalling it there.

In 71.0.3570.0 this appears to have resolved itself. I am seeing the notification bar correctly in all PWAs on this phone. |
