What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) With VoiceOver running, visit this page: https://terrillthompson.com/tests/aria/live-scores.html
(2) Click on one of the buttons
(3)

What is the expected result?
There should be a live region announcement, e.g. "Game 1 has started"

What happens instead?
Nothing


Confirmed that the live regions do work on Safari + VoiceOver. I've been told by another team that this broke their current site, but since a team member still had a copy of Chrome 68 they were able to confirm that it used to work in the previous version.
