Issue description
Chrome Version: 71.0.3555.0/11085.0.0 dev channel Reks,Daisy,Kip
OS: Chrome OS
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)Sign-in to user>> Hit 'Reload+Power' and sign in again >> Observe app icons in the shelf are seen broken
Actual: App icons in the shelf are seen broken when trying to 'Reload+Power' the device.
Expected: No such issue should be seen
This is a Regression issue as same is working fine in M68
NOTE: Issue is seen in M70 and M69.
Issue is seen in App list also

#2 - what type of apps has broken icon. Is it Crositini?

That key combination is "cold EC reset". It is like a sudden power loss. I suspect it causes fs corruption. Can you attach debug logs? /var/log/messages would tell us whether we have fs corruption.

Given the comments above (cold EC reset), this seems like it's not super high priority and is also likely not in scope for M71 at this point.

I tested this case and found that icons are all empty in chrome cache and this is reproducible only on first ARC start. From this point this looks like file system corruption or data not flashed to disk. We cannot fix this in context of ARC, icon loading. Once ARC is back icons are restored. |
