Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3497.100 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1.Go to settings 2. Turn off all options related to auto-complete 3. URLs are still auto-completed based on browsing history What is the expected behavior? A way to turn off the damned auto-complete feature. What went wrong? URLs are always auto-completed with suggestions from browser history. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 69.0.3497.100 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: I want to go to the URL exactly as I type it in with no suggestions of any kind. Is that so hard?

I know you simply asked for a feature, and that feature is (sadly) WontFix. But -- if you have examples of times that the inline autocomplete is too aggressive, I'd love to hear them. We can certainly tune the logic. In particular I'd love example of cases like you describe: you type something that's a valid URL and Chrome is inline autocompleting to something longer. (Please file a new bug with the details, and preferably the chrome://omnibox output for that case. Check the "show all details" box. Feel free to paste the results in here unformatted; we’ll be able to decipher them.) thanks! |
