Currently we do not build chromeos-chrome in the CQ, primarily because it is quite slow when built inside the chroot (~80 minutes).
Unfortunately this occasionally causes failures in the release and PFQ builders if a library that chromeos-chrome changes in a way that breaks the compile, e.g. issue 886932 . These failures are infrequent but can break the entire set of release and PFQ builders.
Proposal: Add amd64 and arm generic builders that compile chromeos-chrome but do not perform any VM or HW tests so that they do not impact the CQ cycle time.
This could be done either by including the SimpleChrome stage (which is currently faster, ~40 minutes), or by proritizing issue 279618 and getting goma working in BuildPackages.
