Clicking on chrome extension button in top UI crashes chrome when top-chrome-md flag is set to "Normal"

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3497.100 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Install any Chrome extension which provides a clickable icon in the browser's top UI 2. Set the top-chrome-md flag to "Normal" 3. Click on the chrome extension button What is the expected behavior? The chrome extension behaves normally What went wrong? The entire chrome browser (all windows) close and I see a crash report in Mac OS. Crashed report ID: 1ca5ab7ab5b63542 How much crashed? Whole browser Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 69.0.3497.100 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.12.6 Flash Version: Initially I thought this was specific to the LastPass chrome extension. I saw another user on Twitter who mentioned the same problem.
