It’s impossible to drag the image from one tab to another.

Reported by mwich...@gmail.com, Sep 18

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3497.92 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to a tab.
2. Start dragging an image.
3. Drag it onto another tab in the window.

What is the expected behavior?
What used to work before the refresh is that Chrome would switch to the tab you hovered over for a while, and allow you to drag the image into the new tab.

What went wrong?
It doesn’t do that any more.

Did this work before? Yes 68, I think?

mwichary@ Thanks for the issue.

Tested this issue on Mac OS 10.13.3 and Windows 10 on the reported version 69.0.3497.92 and the latest Canary 71.0.3554.0 and unable to reproduce the issue by following the below steps.

1. Launched Chrome and tried to drag a image to a new tab.
2. Could drag the image to the new tab and the image is loaded. No issues are observed.
Attached is the screen cast for reference.

Request you to retry the issue on a new chrome profile without any flags/extensions and update the thread with the observations.

Thanks..

Hi! I just tested it.

First of all, it seems the video comes from the older version of Chrome – and the issue specifically happens on the new version with the new style of tabs.

Second of all, to clarify, this is about dragging an image to an existing tab and dropping it inside it – not about creating a new tab with an image. (That doesn’t seem to work either.)

However, I just installed and tested in on Canary/v71, and it seems to be working fine there, so it seems I just need to wait.
(I think this can be closed! I don’t think I can do it myself.)
