Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3497.92 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open a new tab 2. Open a bookmark link with the new tab selected 3. Switch to *another* tab What is the expected behavior? In all previous versions of Chrome the bookmark would load, in the background, in the new tab when doing this. What went wrong? Now it loads in the tab you switch to unless you wait a few *seconds* before loading. There's something that's gotten considerably slower between clicking on the bookmark and beginning the load process in a tab that's making this happen in Chrome 69. Did this work before? Yes 68.x.x.x Chrome version: 69.0.3497.92 Channel: n/a OS Version: OS X 10.13.6 Flash Version:

ian.chesal@ Thanks for filling the issue.. Tried to reproduce the issue on reported chrome 69.0.3497.92 using Mac 10.13.6. Steps: ------ 1. Opened a new tab 2. Opened a bookmark link with the new tab selected 3. Switched to *another* tab As we are observed that bookmark loading normally on a new tab page @Reporter: Can you verify this issue with fresh profile that is not having any extensions and apps or reset all the flags. Let us know whether issue still persists. If possible provide a screen-cast for better triaging it. Thanks..!

Hmm. I'm trying to recreate it in an empty profile and I can't. Bookmarks load into the tab that was active when I click the bookmark. Must be an extension then that's slowing everything down.

Wait. Nope. Got it. Put the bookmark in a *folder* on the bookmark bar.

Here it is: https://youtu.be/rFMySZ1-QbU The mouse click is followed by a very quick Cmd-1 to change the tab. This is a fairly ingrained and automatic set of motions for me to make. But with Chrome 69 I have to add a longer pause between the click and the tab change or the click is loaded into the wrong tab. Putting the bookmark in a folder on the bookmark bar was the key to recreating the issue.

> please let us know if anything missed from our end Yes, you're not fast switching tabs after you click the link the way I am in the video I posted. In the video I posted, the problem was recreated using a fresh profile in Chrome that has no extensions loaded.
