HIGH MEMORY CONSUMPTION

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu Chromium/69.0.3497.81 Chrome/69.0.3497.81 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open multiple tabs
2. search for memory consumption.
3. 

What is the expected behavior?
To reduce the memory consumption

What went wrong?
Opening the half of tabs in confront of the previous release the memory consumption is almost the same.

Did this work before? Yes 68

Chrome version: 69.0.3497.81  Channel: stable
OS Version: KDe NEon 5.13 based on Ubuntu 16.04
Flash Version: absent

Unable to reproduce the issue on ubuntu 17.10 using chrome reported version #69.0.3497.81.
Attached a screen shot for reference.

Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue.
------------
1. Opened multiple tabs
2. Searched for memory consumption in chrome task manager.
3. Observed that the memory consumption reduced.

reporter@ - Could you please check the issue by creating a new profile without any apps and extensions and please let us know if the issue still persist or not.

I got the issue comparing chrome 68 to chrome 69 one day before. Using chrome/chromium 68 I could opened above 50 tabs consuming 1GB less than chrome/chromum 68.

Unable to reproduce the issue on ubuntu 17.10 using chrome reported version #69.0.3497.81.

1. Opened more than 50 tabs.
2. Searched for memory consumption in chrome task manager.
3. Observed that the memory consumption reduced.

The issue seems to be specific to KDe NEon 5.13 based on Ubuntu 16.04. Hence, forwarding the issue to inhouse team for further triaging of the issue on ubuntu 16.04.

As Google-HYD team do not have KDe NEon 5.13 based on Ubuntu 16.04 environment , could some one from MTV team please take a look into this issue and update the thread accordingly.

Note: Tried to install KDE on Ubuntu 16.04 but KDE is not opening to proceed further.Hence routing to MTV.
