[User feedback - Stable] 400%+ increase in reports about connection issues with Chrome Remote Desktop |
|||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 68.0.3440.106 & 69.0.3497.92 OS: Win 8, Win 10, Mac 100+ reports received since Sept 11 about Chrome Remote Desktop failing to connect. 25% of reports are from Taiwan. It doesn't seem specific to Chrome 69 as 53% of the reports are from Chrome 68. User feedback: "Suddenly i can't connect to any of my remote computers. I get a message that i should check the internet connection and there is definately an internet connection on the computers. This happened suddenly and seemingly without cause." "I'm attempting to use Chrome Remote Desktop from both my Android phone and my Android tablet. I've set up CRD host on my PC, have set up CRD client app on both Android devices, and have set up a PIN #, etc... I am able to see the host PC on CRD on both Android devices and am able to connect to the PC with both Android devices. However, when I do connect to the host PC, with either Android device, I get a blank screen and the only things I can do are: a) Exit the client app from the upper-left pull-down in either Android device b) Enable the keyboard on either Android device from the upper-right pull-down c) Force a client exit by clicking the Exit CRD button on the host PC." "i was wondering why suddenly i can't enter my server computer which was working 2 days ago perfectly. I've noticed I can go via the new beta remote website but not with the chrome app."

The issue was specific to non-gmail accounts and should now be fixed. Affected users will need to restart their computers or set up a new Chrome Remote Desktop host to get back online. |
