Thanks for filing the issue! Able to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 69.0.3497.81 and on the latest canary 71.0.3555.0 using Mac 10.13.1, Windows 10 and Ubuntu 14.04. As the issue is seen from M60(60.0.3112.0) considering it as Non-Regression and marking it as Untriaged, requesting someone from respective team to have a look into this. Note: Tentatively adding component "Services>SignIn", please change if this isn't apt.

Thanks for the report. Adding a couple Google Gaia engineers. As far as I know, there is a current limitation in all Google websites that selectively signing out of one account is impossible. It is only possible to logout all accounts at the same time. Since Sync now requires being logged into the content area (i.e. gmail) to work, it is somewhat expected that logging out of any account in gmail pauses Sync. The best fix would be for google websites to support "single account signout". I know that this is being considered, but I don't know how likely it is to get this change in the near future. In the shorter term, we may be able to do something in the browser: using a new "multilogin" API that is currently being developed, we may be able to remove a single account without touching the others. This would need a new UI somewhere though (in settings, and maybe in the account menu).

Thanks for filing! As c#4 explained, this is working as expected today. Google has never support signing out of a single account from Gmail multi-login without also signing out of all your other accounts. The fact that sync now gets paused when you sign out of your accounts has to do with the fact that your identity between Chrome and Google is now linked. Simply signing back into Gmail with your first account will automatically resume sync. Also as c#4 mentioned, we are continually looking for ways to improve the identity system in Chrome. One thing we are exploring is a way to allow users to selectively sign out of an individual account, but we don't have a definitive timeframe for that yet. I will mark this as WontFix for now, since this is expected behavior. Thanks for the feedback! |
