Instant search result box has weird grid lines

Issue description

Chrome Version       :  69.0.3497.81
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
  Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
     Safari: PASS
    Firefox: PASS
       Edge: PASS

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Type anything in the URL bar
(2)
(3)

What is the expected result?
Clean box in which results are displayed

What happens instead?
The box in which instant searches are shown, has a weird grid like design that shows up

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Thanks for filing the issue!

Unable to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 69.0.3497.81 using Windows 10 with the below mentioned steps.
1. Launched chrome
2. Searched some content in omnibox 
Observed the suggestions were proper without any horizontal/vertical lines.

@Reporter: Could you please check the same in a new profile without any apps & extensions and let us know if the issue still persists. Any further inputs from your end may be helpful.

Feedback is still welcome - but recomponentizing since this looks like it might be GPU or compositing related. Note you can see the wallpaper through the gaps in the tiles.
Is this still happening to you?

Does it happen on all pages (and you see the page peeking through) or just the New Tab Page (and you see the image you set as the background peeking through)?  That would help me route this to the right place.
