Chrome for iPad: there is no line to separate top GUI from webpages

Reported by billdill...@gmail.com, Sep 6

Issue description

Steps to reproduce the problem:
in Chrome for iPad, there is no line to make it clear where the top chrome/GUI ends and where the webpage begins. Chrome for Windows does have this line (see green arrow in screenshot), Chrome for iPad should have it too.

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
Also, when you scroll down and the top chrome 'hides', again there is no line to separate it. Safari does have this line, as it should. see 2nd attached screenshot

Did this work before? N/A

Should we add a line?

Thank you for your feedback. I think the toolbar colour provides the needed distinction. For the time being, we'll keep the design as-is and will be monitoring user feedback.
The Chrome for Windows and Chrome for Android teams disagree, they’ve put lines or shadows to make it clear
