Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3497.81 Safari/537.36 Example URL: http://falsandtru.github.io/pjax-api/ Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open http://falsandtru.github.io/pjax-api/ 2. Click a local link such as API, Pjax, Event, or Router. 3. Cursor blinks several times by the change of cursor style. What is the expected behavior? Don't change the cursor style like Firefox. What went wrong? Chrome must not change the cursor style in clicking. Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? Yes I can't remember. Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 69.0.3497.81 Channel: stable OS Version: Flash Version: The change of cursor style in clicking of anchor element happens on all web sites but it is a problem when we use History APIs used to SPA and Pjax. So this is a problem of all SPA and Pjax web sites. It is especially clear on http://falsandtru.github.io/pjax-api/. Looks like the cursor style don't see the specified CSS because I can't lock the cursor style in any explicit specifying of CSS. And the cursor blinking don't stop even when the cursor has left from the clicked link. It seems the missing of specified CSS.

Tried testing the issue on reported chrome version #70.0.3497.81 and latest chrome #71.0.3545.2 on Ubuntu 17.10 by following below steps. Steps: ===== 1.Launched chrome. 2.Navigated to "http://falsandtru.github.io/pjax-api/". 3.Hovered mouse over the API, Pjax, Event, or Router links observed that the cursor changes from arrow to pointer( which is usually observed when hovered over links). 4.When opened the anchor elements and moved away from the link, unable to observe the blinking of the cursor. Attached screencast for reference. @reporter : Could you please review the attached screencast and let us know if anything is being missed here.If possible requesting you to provide the screencast of the issue, so that it would be really helpful for better triaging of the issue. Thanks.!

Thanks for your review! Your steps are correct but looks like the bug didn't appear there. I tried to record the bug but I can't do it. Probably frame rate is not enough to record the blinking. Can't you directly observe the blinking by your eyes? I'm also looking for a way to record the blinking. I can see this bug on both Ubuntu 18.04 and Windows10.

Unable to reproduce the issue on Win-10 and ubuntu 14.04 using chrome reported version #69.0.3497.81 and latest canary #71.0.3548.0 as per comment #0. Observed that the cursor did not blink at all on clicking. Removing the Needs-Bisect label as the issue is not reproducible from TE-end and requesting someone from Blink team to please have a look into the issue. Thanks...!!

I tried to repro this issue on physical machine but couldn't it. Maybe the issue appears only on virtual machine. VM has run on VMware Workstation 12 on CentOS 7.

falsandtru@ Thanks for the update. As per comment #6, as this issue is reproducible on virtual machine on CentOS 7, this setup is not available at TE end to test further. Hence adding 'TE-NeedsTriageFromHYD' label and requesting Inhouse team to look into this issue and help in further triaging. Thanks..

Looks like this is related to the hovering change. cc navid and lan This seems a VM only issue, lower the priority.

I recorded the issue using smartphone. Can you take a look? However, this blink is conservative because of a lack of frame rate. And I uploaded the video to the following uploader because the video size is over 10MB(capacity of this tracker). Specify another uploader if needed. https://www.axfc.net/u/3936501 key: blink

My suspect is this is because both chrome and VM are trying to change the cursor. This issue looks trivial, I don't think we need to fix this. Reporter: Feel free to comment if you have additional feedback. |
