I feel the current behavior is the expected behavior, see the recorded video: https://drive.google.com/open?id=16LHQs31n5s_gvFHC4-PHvtzvdnV3h1EC Omri, Ben, what do you think?

That scenario looks quite nice. I think the issue was that the shelf was not showing while in split screen with one or no open windows while in clamshell mode. I will update the description, sorry if I was unclear at first.

In clamshell mode, I don't think we have 'split screen' concept as the windows can only be snapped independently. And snapped windows don't interact with overview at all in clamshell mode. Thus a window that's snapped basically equivalent to a window that has a normal window state (i.e., not maximized/fullscreen). Since a normal window in clamshell mode doesn't bring up the auto-hidden shelf, I don't think it's reasonable to bring up the auto-hidden shelf for a snapped window.

xdai@'s screencap looks like expected behavior for tablet mode. If you're describing clamshell instead, can you clarify with a screencap, newcomer@? I think kejiashao@ and I just agreed that shelf should always show up when overview or launcher is visible? Perhaps you're seeing this change?

That could be it. Honestly I filed this bug from memory after omrilio@ briefly showed me the bug. It might be better to ask him.

In this case I'll close this bug. Feel free to reopen it if you disagree. |
