Bug with setInterval in Maestro and Chrome Version 68.0.3440.106 (Mac OS) |
||||
Issue descriptionFiling a bug from an issue reported by fuzzy@... Chrome Version: 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit) OS: MacOS High Sierra What steps will reproduce the problem? I'm seeing a very weird bug when I open (Maestro script) https://script.google.com/a/google.com/macros/s/AKfycbzEKKIx1sJ33pvkXJV6o5V1i-6eBORiFye4Ib5F9zRmAnRrDME/exec in a new tab in Chrome, after a few seconds the entire html in the screen disappears. But clicking on another tab and returning to the exec tab, shows the html in the screen again. NOTE you need to open a new tab and enter the url above in the tab address bar and hit enter. Clicking on the link above to open in Chrome will not replicate the issue. This is only an issue in Version 68.0.3440.106 - I have tested in other versions prior to it and it works fine. Any ideas? The code is here https://script.google.com/a/google.com/d/12dHs6AC4XmsNxMGlDPgMXS5OY8j98F5668BM8Hzirz5bI8-F-kf75xxp/edit?usp=drive_web&folder=11xn3YfmZIFBQgwvDJRdD6Y_MA8ce9VOe&splash=yes I can't replicate the issue with plain HTML. It only happens so far with HTML generated by Maestro (Apps Script), and I assume it is a Chrome bug since the script/html works fine with earlier versions of Chrome.

OS Tested: MacBook Pro 10.13.4(Touchbar), MacBook Air 10.13.6, MacBookPro Retina 10.13 Beta(17A362a) Tried a repro of this as per below steps on #68.0.3440.106. 1. Launched chrome and opened https://script.google.com/a/google.com/macros/s/AKfycbzEKKIx1sJ33pvkXJV6o5V1i-6eBORiFye4Ib5F9zRmAnRrDME/exec in new tab. 2. Didn't observe the UI disappearing. parisa@: Could you please provide the exact Mac OS version to test on the same & also does the issue repro resetting all the flags to default as well.

Please make sure to copy and paste the URL into the address bar of a new tab. Just clicking on the link to open a new tab will not repro. Exact steps are to copy the above URL and paste it into the address bar of a new tab, wait a few seconds and you'll see the screen go blank. Clicking on another tab and returning will display the screen again. Let me know if you can't repro and I'll try to record and send a video. Exact Mac OS version is macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G65). Chrome Version 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Today's M69 Stable RC# 69.0.3497.81 (Going to be released soon) doesn't have this issue and i do not see this on other channels (Canary# 71.0.3542.0, Dev# 70.0.3534.4 & Beta# 69.0.3497.72) as well. I'm marking this issue as 'WontFix' and please feel free to comment here for further questions. Thank you!
