tab page icons shrunk

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1.Open a new tab in Canary and the icons are smaller. 
2.There is also 10 when there used to be 8 
3. 

What is the expected behavior?
larger icons

What went wrong?
started today the icons got small

Did this work before? Yes The version before.

Chrome version: 70.0.3538.0  Channel: canary
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: included

just started to happen.  I have tried a reinstall, that did not change this behavior.  I've enclose two pics from std Chrome and my new Canary page. Is this a new look?

Able to reproduce the issue on win-10 and mac 10.13.3 using latest canary #70.0.3538.5 but unable to reproduce the issue using equivalent chrome version #70.0.3538.5. Attaching screen shots for reference.

As the issue is inconsistent in nature and won't be able to provide bisect results. Hence, marking it as untriaged for further inputs from dev team.
