Chrome Version: 69.0.3497.58 Beta
Chrome OS Version: 10895.33.0 beta channel
Chrome OS Platform: Pixelbook 12 (2017)
Network info: N/A
Steps To Reproduce:
(1) Close the lid of the device while logged-in to a user account.
(2) Wait some period of time.
(3) Open device.
Expected Result:
Lock screen with password prompt for currently logged-in account is displayed.
Actual Result:
No lock screen is displayed; instead, the device is logged-in directly to the desktop. All application windows are closed and an error message states that Chrome has closed unexpectedly.
How frequently does this problem reproduce?
Infrequently and inconsistently--approximately once per day on my device.
What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? If so, what is
it?
No specific workaround. The main issue is a security issue--if a user expects their device to be locked and it is not, this may represent a risk of their information being stolen. Additionally, it is inconvenient for all applications to be closed unexpectedly.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screen shot or
log if possible.
I can attach logs if instructed as to which logs are useful and how to access them.
