calendar tab icon sometimes does not show |
||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 70.0.3532.5 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) (cohort: Clang-64) OS: Windows 10 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Have calendar open. Notice that the tab icon shows the date (2) Sleep the machine, maybe? (3) Unsleep What is the expected result? Calendar tab shows icon with date. What happens instead? Icon is just a blank page - see screenshot. Please use labels and text to provide additional information. Filing this bug because I've seen it twice. I need to work on some actual repro steps. Might be hard to reproduce. If this is a regression (i.e., worked before), please consider using the bisect tool (https://www.chromium.org/developers/bisect-builds-py) to help us identify the root cause and more rapidly triage the issue. For graphics-related bugs, please copy/paste the contents of the about:gpu page at the end of this report.

hmm I just tried a manual discard from chrome://discards and that didn't break the icon. my gut tells me it's something to do with sleeping the machine, or perhaps the network going in/out and some sort of page reload happening. I need to work on repro steps here.

yes it does seem to be sleep related. If I have Chrome open and I put my Windows 10 machine to sleep, then upon awakening, the icon is always like the screenshot in this bug.

Is it possible to bisect this?

I'm finding it really hard to reproduce this but I haven't forgotten about it.

I can't reproduce this, and it hasn't happened in a while, so closing. Let's hope it wasn't an m70 regression!

fwiw I am getting this now on my Chromebook - 70.0.3538.58 (Official Build) beta (64-bit). 70.0.3532.5 was the original revision I saw this on for my Windows machine, but by 71.0.3569.0 (comment 6) this had gone away. I am now wondering if this might be a 70-only regression.
