Issue descriptionCan't access long press menu on search box unless there is something in the clip board. This is because all options are disabled, and we decided not to show a menu in this case. Feedback is that we should reconsider this, and show the menu with all options disabled.

Just tried to repro on caroline ToT (70.0.3536.0). My observations: 1. Empty search box, empty clipboard: long press shows a blue "drop" handle, no menu 2. Some text in search box, empty clipboard: long press selects a word, puts two drop handles around it and shows the horizontal menu (Cut|Copy|...) 3. Empty search box, something in the clipboard: long press shows a horizontal menu (Paste|...) 4. Some text in search box, something in the clipboard: long press selects a word, shows a horizontal menu (Cut|Copy|Paste|...) The above seems a) very reasonable, b) exactly the same as in Chrome's omnibox. Please let me know if I am missing anything.

sounds good. I looked through textfield and TextfieldController for changes I have made but I think my memory is just faulty. Wont-fixing. Shiba feel free to undo this if you disagree. |
