Zoom function anomaly

Project Member Reported by zedorcic@google.com, Aug 27

Issue description

Chrome Version : 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit) (cohort: Stable)
URLs (if applicable) : Internal sites used to test function - go/me, go/ab, go/agame

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Open go/me in two tabs, or two separate windows
(2) Try to zoom in or out
(3) Both instances will zoom in or out as if linked

What is the expected result?
Every tab has its own zoom level

What happens instead?
Both tabs zoom in as if they were linked.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Behavior reproduces in incognito window as well. Having two go/me pages opened in two incognito windows and zooming them will have both of them react. Issue also verified with Techstop Help and CorpEngKB pages being linked that way. The other two links (go/ab, go/agame) use the Android Build Tool and also act as if linked.

Thanks.!
I was able to reproduce the issue, the steps produced for me exactly the same outcome being 'Both instances will zoom in or out as if linked'.

I tested on MacOS High Sierra
Chrome Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Hi,

The issue still persists.

It's not that pages can't be zoomed in or out, but that some pages seem to share the zoom level. So when you modify the zoom level of one tab, the other processes the same modification alongside it.

I am honestly not sure if it's due to the browser or if there's something in the way certain pages work that shares that data.
