Spurious crashes in PictureLayerImpl

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/68.0.3440.106 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
HTML crashes when calling toFocusView() or toDetailView()

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
From the logs: :
FATAL:picture_layer_impl.cc(1428) 
Check failed: !draw_properties().screen_space_transform_is_animating

Did this work before? N/A 

Chrome version: 68.0.3440.106  Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.13.6
