Difficulty hitting touch points on edge of curved screen with Pixel XL (Android)

Project Member Reported by ajnolley@chromium.org, Aug 25

Issue description

1.Connect to any host from Pixel 2 XL (or likely any phone with curved, almost bezel-less edges)
2.Open Chrome browser and full screen it
3.Try to hit Chrome tabs

Or try any action at the very edge of the screen. With the Screen going all the way out to the curved edge, its a bit more difficult to hit a target.

Do you mean it is difficult to hit something in touch mode on the curved area? I guess that's when trackpad mode can solve the problem :) Alternatively we will need to add extra safe insets to adjust for the curved area..

Hi Yuwei, yes in touch mode it is very difficult. Trackpad mode works well with very little difficulty
I think this is expected. If your finger is larger than the tap target, you're going to run into issues like this, whether the target is near the edge of the screen or not.
