Crostini: Unable to open Linux apps

Issue description

Chrome Version: 70.0.3530.0
Chrome OS Version: 10998.0.0, 
Chrome OS Platform: kevin, pyro
Network info: Wifi

Please specify Cr-* of the system to which this bug/feature applies (add
the label below).

Steps To Reproduce:
(1) Install crostini.
(2) Install gedit app using "sudo apt-get install gedit".
(3) Open gedit from terminal using "gedit" command or from app launcher.
(4) observe behavior.

Expected Result:
- No issue to open app.

Actual Result:
- Unable to open app(No app window).

How frequently does this problem reproduce? (Always, sometimes, hard to
reproduce?)

Seems likely to be caused by  Issue 877254 . Wayland apps like Gedit are transparent, while X11 apps like VS Code only have a header bar.

Please re-open if this is a separate issue.
