wrong timezone on chrome

Issue descriptionVersion of Google Chrome (Wrench-> About Google Chrome): 68.0.3440.106 Version of MSI (if applicable): Using group policy settings? Yes Hi Team, We are facing timezone issue on chrome (roamed from a file server). we are using citrix and citrix session shows local timezone where as chrome shows up other timezone. This is observed in our org. Maruthi K chadalvada.

As per comment# 0 from the reporter, the issue seems to be related to Enterprise, hence routing this to Inhouse and adding TE-NeedsTriageFromHYD label to it. Thanks!

Are any policies applied to Chrome? Also is Chrome showing the timezone of the client intead of the server or any other random timezone?

Yes Chrome is applied with Roaming profile. its showing server time not the client timezone. Server is on EST and users are on multiple timezones. Chrome is picking up server timezone instead of client time zone. we had a suspect that the timezone is observed from file server and we tried changing that. Still its showing EST. To Add more clarity -- we have Citrix servers and multiple users login to these servers (servers are on EST). Chrome is on File server and is roamed to this Citrix servers when user launches chrome application. Let me know if you need any more information. Maruthi K Chadalavada.

Julian: what does it mean "Chrome is picking up server timezone"? In what scenarios does chrome use a timezone? Is this to apply time-based enterprise policies?

This is already fixed. Workaround meanwhile is suggested in the bug this is duplicated on. |
