Tabs and favicons colored black in Material Design UI

Chrome Version: Version 70.0.3524.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)
OS: MacOS

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Just use Google Chrome Canary for a while

What is the expected result?
Tabs and favicons consistently look same.

What happens instead?
Tabs or favicons look inverted (or blacked) as you can see in the attached screenshot.

If this is a regression (i.e., worked before), please consider using the
bisect tool (https://www.chromium.org/developers/bisect-builds-py) to help
us identify the root cause and more rapidly triage the issue.

For graphics-related bugs, please copy/paste the contents of the about:gpu
page at the end of this report.

This should be fixed in latest Canary Version 70.0.3527.0.

Can you please update and try again.

If everything is okay we can dupe your report against  issue 870317 .
