Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/68.0.3440.106 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Remove IP Print 2. Add Manually 3. Test Print What is the expected behavior? To save the default printer as the IP printer (Lexmark MS417dn - using Lexmark 415dn Driver). What went wrong? When the print dialong pops up, randomly it defaults back to Save to PDF. It searches for the printer finds it and re-attaches but sometimes takes up to 2 minutes Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: 68.0.3440.106 Channel: n/a OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version:

Can you elaborate more on what "Remove IP Print" and "Add Manually" mean? Just to confirm, is this problem happening on a Chromebook?

This is on an Asus Chromebook. When it Defaults to Save to PSDF, I have to select a manually added IP printer or select a new one that populates in the list (all are network printers). It sometimes take 2-3 min once a rediscovered printer is selected to be able to print.

Is it falling back to "Save as PDF" because the printer (on WiFi?) is unreachable?

It's hardwired printers with static IP

Thanks for clarifying. No idea why a hard-wired printer would do that. Maybe the CUPS printing folks can take a look.

We fallback to Save as PDF is a printer is unreachable since we rely on being able to query a printer for configuration information. It shouldn't take 2-3 minutes to select the printer. We'll look into the latency.

Just a note - we are using Gsuite on three Asus Chromebooks that use a single account to sign in. I noticed that as an example? stations A switches to a say "printer A", it homes and prints. Station B switches to Printer B, takes a few minutes (still using same account) and finally selects and Prints. Station A will then be showing Station B printer as default, then the next print job defaults to PDF again. Would this have something to do with using 1 google account on multiple machines?

Print Preview UI has been updated since this bug was reported. Are you still seeing the same problem? |
