Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/68.0.3440.106 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Restarted Chrome and Computer 2. #Force-Color-Profile settings & disabled Hardware acceleration 3. Cleared cache and cookies What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? Upon starting up today (08/16/18) Chrome showed webpages and images to be vastly desaturated from their intended hues. It is not an issue with the computer itself, as other programs show up just fine. I have done multiple restarts on the computer, Chrome itself, I have gone through the list of #Force-Color-Profiles and have done #disable-accelerated-video-decode on Chrome://flags to no progress. I then cleared my browsing history, cache, and cookies. Still nothing has changed. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 68.0.3440.106 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version:

Possibly because of SkCMS correctly handling the installed color profile +brianosman Please refer to the following document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jMokB_OBkZVELu22li8vnHxAUoL1eGnLedP-1Gttv40/edit?usp=sharing

brianosman: is there something actionable here? Or is this WontFix?

This is likely WontFix, though I'm always interested in seeing the .icc profile from any users that encounter these kinds of issues. One note: User claims that #force-color-profile doesn't change anything. This would imply that color management isn't to blame - except from one previous bug, I've seen that changing #force-color-profile doesn't always do something, even on a Chrome restart. I'm not sure if this is due to some zombie chrome process preventing the full reload necessary, or due to an actual bug in that setting. If we can get a copy of the color profile, we can determine if it's an skcms issue that should be fixed. Failing that, I'd advise to set force-color-profile to sRGB and then reboot (to make sure it's picked up). |
