Issue descriptionChrome Version: 69.0.3497.42 (Official Build) Revision 9c4613c66dfeb2b76ef6dd4b15884c15db3b4969-refs/branch-heads/3497@{#655} (64 bit) OS: Mac (10.12.6, 10.13.1, 10.13.6, 10.14), Win (7, 8, 8.1, 10) & Linux (14.04 LTS) Pre-condition: Enable the flag 'Enable using the Google local NTP' and 'New Tab Page Background Selection' from chrome://flags/ What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Launch chrome, open NTP and resize the browser to its minimum limit such that 'Customize this page' overlay is visible. (2) Now click on gear icon and Observe the overlay. Actual Result: Unable to click the options of 'Customize this page' overlay on resizing the browser. Expected Result: Should be able to click the options of 'Customize this page' overlay on resizing the browser. This is a Non-Regression issue seen from ‘M-69’ chrome version #69.0.3451.0 as NTP flag came in to existence. NOTE: Issue is also seen on M-70 Dev (build #70.0.3521.2) & M-70 Canary (build #70.0.3524.0). Thank You..!!

Hey Yana, I talked offline with Weilun about this. It looks like it's caused by the screen being too small to show the menu. There isn't a min vertical size for the NTP (though there is a min horizontal size). A few options exist: 1. create a min vertical size that also supports the menu height (ie the browser could never be made smaller than this size, even from a non NTP page). 2. hide the gear icon after the window becomes too small to support the menu. 3. acknowledge that this edge case exists, but do nothing. I think option 3 seems reasonable here, but noting the other ones in case they (most likely #2) seems reasonable. |
